Funeral services for Henry Persis Jones, 86, retired Lincoln County farmer and recently resident of Fayetteville, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Bennett-May Funeral Home, conducted by I. C. Pullias, Fayetteville Church of Christ minister. Burial took place in the Medium Cemetery at Delina in Lincoln County. Mr. Jones died at 8 o'clock Friday night, April 29, in Lincoln County Hospital.
Born October 12, 1879, in Giles County, he was the son of the late Herbert Brice (Chip) Jones and Sarah Kincaid Jones. He lived in Giles and Lincoln counties for a number of years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eula Benedict Jones; one son, Thomas Henry Jones, Harlem, Ga.; three daughters, Miss Edith Jones, Nashville, Mrs. Walter Gordon, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Carl Little, Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; his step-mother, Mrs. Alice Doggett Jones, Brick Church, Giles County; one half-brother, Elyn Jones, Lawrenceburg; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Joe Robinson, Brick Church, and Mrs. L. G. Nunley, Oak Ridge.
