Mrs. Phyllis B. Fegreus, age 88, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her home, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Fegreus was born in Gloversville, NY, on Tuesday, January 20, 1925, a daughter of the late Richard Oare and the late Bessie Semple Oare. She and her husband had lived in Blairsville for the past 31 years, moving here from Miami, FL. Phyllis was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church, and enjoyed doing volunteer work at her church. A gardener at heart, she was a member of Blairsville Garden Club, and was a past President and State Laurel District Director of the Garden Club of Georgia. Her accomplishments for the Blairsville Garden Club were many, and were of a great benefit to our community.
Phyllis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her - especially her family: husband, Wesley W. Fegreus, of Blairsville; niece, Sandra Kirkpatrick, of Bracey, VA; and niece and great niece, Sherry Fegreus and Kim Fegreus, both of Grantville, GA; many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Fegreus were held on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11 a.m., in the Choestoe Baptist Church Chapel, with Rev. Ken Zollinger officiating. Burial was in Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Choestoe Baptist Church Building Fund, 41 Choestoe Church Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
