COFFEYVILLE - Donald E. Allmon, 70, of Coffeyville died Thursday evening, Oct. 13, 2005, at Cherryvale Care Center. He was born March 29, 1935, in rural Cherryvale to Willis M. and Clara L. (Kelley) Allmon. He grew up and attended schools in rural Mound Valley. After graduating from Mound Valley High School in 1953, he attended Tulsa University in Tulsa. In 1953, he began working at Parmac Manufacturing Co. in Coffeyville. From 1958 to 1960, he served in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, he moved to Coffeyville and returned to work at Parmac until retiring from the inventory control and purchasing department in 1999. During this time, he also farmed. He enjoyed farming and hunting. While in high school, he was athletic and participated in sporting events. He and Cora Lou Good were married Oct. 29, 1954, in Mound Valley. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Michael Allmon and his companion, Mike Devino, of Kansas City, Mo., and Doug Allmon and his wife, Shelly, of Olathe; a daughter, Cheryl Leweke and her husband, Dan, of Olathe; four grandchildren, Grayson Leweke, Sterling Leweke, Holden Leweke and Sydney Allmon; and a brother, Dwight Allmon of Wisconsin. The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home at Altamont with the Rev. Greg Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. These may be left at or sent to the funeral home, 510 Wabash, Altamont, Kan. 67330.
