Sid "Carl" Bass, 81, formerly of Clare, IA passed away on November 6, 2013 at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. Carl was born in Spencer, IA on December 1, 1931 to LeRoy and Mildred Bass. He grew up and graduated from Spencer High School in 1950. He then served in the US Marine Corps and continued his service in the National Guard. He worked in road maintenance for Webster County until retirement in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, farming and building houses.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine; his parents LeRoy and Mildred; his son Rex and his brother Richard. Carl is survived by his significant other Lynn Peterson; 9 children; 3 step-children; 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and his sister Annabelle.
