She was a daughter of Albert And Elizabeth Ann VanMeter Wittenmyer. She married Roy Raymond Godwin in Knox County, Indiana on June 1, 1905. Surviving children are Merle Larkin Godwin of Allerton, Illinois and Mrs. Pauline Norman of Clallam Bay, Washington. A second son, Garland Godwin, born in 1908, died as an infant, however I have found no death date nor burial. This death occurred prior to U.S. Census of 1910 as he is not listed in the household. The photo of her and Roy was taken sometime in late 1940. He fell from the front porch about 1950, breaking his back causing paralysis from the waist down. Roy spent the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. The photo was taken in the backyard of their home at Haubstadt, Indiana.

She was also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: brothers Frank Wittenmyer, Indianapolis; Hillyard Wittenmyer, Mission, Kansas; and John Wittenmyer, Bartonsville, Oklahoma and sisters: Mrs. Claude Mabel Snoddy of Modesto, California and Mrs. Dorothy (Henry) Price of Portland, Oregon.

The top photo shows Roy and Blanch Godwin, again in their backyard at Haubstadt, Indiana. To the right, exiting their home is Roy's mother, Sarah Jane "Sally" Buckles Godwin.
