Delbert J. Lee, 84, of Woodstock, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Hospice Inpatient Care Unit in Woodstock.He was born Jan 4, 1927, in Woodstock, to Ole and Amy (Richardson) Lee. He married Helen Torgeson on Feb. 11, 1949, in Woodstock.He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1945-47. For 32 years, he worked for the U.S. Post Office at the Woodstock office. He was a lifetime and charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5040 in Woodstock. He was a kind man who offered his help whenever asked. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Lee of Woodstock; a son, Steve (Pricilla) Lee of California; a brother, David Lee of Indiana; a sister, Mary Anne Lee of Alabama; and four grandchildren, Derek Lee, Keith (Jodi) Lee, Matthew Lee and Amanda Lee.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Lee; and a brother, Robert Lee. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at noon Thursday, June 30, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 S. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. Burial with military honors provided by the VFW Post 5040 Honor Guard will be in McHenry County Memorial Park.
