George Giles was born on the plantation of Confederate President, Jefferson Davis. He was instrumental in the early Denver Police Department and owned the Denver Police Dispatch and Service Company. He was Commander of the Knights Templar Drill Team in 1926.

"Funeral services for George B. Giles, a resident of Denver for fifty-three years, who died at his home 1553 Emerson street, Tuesday, will be held in the Olinger chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Services will be in charge of the Bob Morris lodge No. 12, A.F. & M. and interment will be in Fairmount.

Giles was born at Canton, Mississippi in 1871 and was brought to Denver by his parents in 1873. He has been active in Masonic lodge work and was a member of Colorado commandary No. 1 and Denver chapter No. 2.

Survivors are the widow, Cora, and four children."
