Lance Corporal Albert Huffer was a 1965 graduate from Germantown High School, in Germantown, Montgomery County, Ohio. After graduating, he enlisted in the Marines at a Cincinnati recruiting office on July 1, 1965.

Albert was assigned to Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam. While participating in Operation Prairie (a military operation in northern South Vietnam to eliminate North Vietnamese Army forces that was fought in the foothills south of the Demilitarized Zone), Albert was tragically killed at Mutter's Ridge on the south slope of Nui Cay Tre Mountain (Hill 484) in Quang Tri, as a result of friendly fire from a tank.

Albert was wounded twice before, during his Vietnam tour, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his bravery, and three Purple Hearts.

Albert is honored on Panel 11E, Row 49 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
