Of Bethesda, MD, passed away quietly on November 3, 2013. Born in Tomah, WI on October 20,1912; she lived in the DC area for most of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Col. Charles R. Janes; the dear mother of Marsha Janes Amory (Rick), Susan Janes Burns and Paul Janes (Stacy); the loving grandmother of Katherine Amory Forrest (Drew), Margaret Ashley Amory, Elizabeth Amory Meyer (Tadd), Kathleen Burns Swatt (Kevin), Kelly Elizabeth Janes and Lindsay Ellen Janes; and matriarch of numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service, 12 noon at Westmoreland Congregational Church, 1 Westmoreland Circle, Bethesda, MD. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery at a later date.
