Robert P. Atkinson
Masonic funeral services for Robert Porter Atkinson, 75, former owner of the University Sign Co., will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow at Forkner's chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen.
Mr. Atkinson died yesterday in a nursing home. He had retired in 1945.
Mr. Atkinson owned the sign company from 1918 and did much of the gold-leaf lettering on Seattle business offices. He was born in Rockport, Ind. He came here in 1909.
Mr. Atkinson was a member of the University Presbyterian Church, University Lodge No. 141, F. & A. M., Co-Arts Society and the Sign Painters' Union, Local 435.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie E., at their home, 4211 11th Av. N.E., a son, Eugene P. Atkinson, and a daughter, Miss Roberta Atkinson, both of Seattle; a brother, Ben Atkinson, Rockport, and three grandchildren.
