EVERETT OLEY RHODES, age 86 years, a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, departed this life at 9 PM, Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Baltimore Medical Center at Glen Burnie, MD. He had been in failing health. He was born Wednesday May 12, 1920 at Wymer, a son of the late Charles Oley Rhodes and Lena Waybright Rhodes. He is survived by two sons, Marvin Rhodes and Ronald Rhodes and wife, Mary Ann; two daughters, Bertha Higgs and Phyllis Love and husband, Jimmy; eight brother, Charles, Raymond, Earl, Forrest, Willie, Harry, Ralph, and Ronald, nine sisters, Louemma, Faye, Marie, Margie, Wretha, Alice, Emma Jean, Roseanna, and Retta; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Rhodes in death were four brothers, McClellan, James "Jim", Lloyd, and Arthur, and one sister, Donna. He attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked as a welder for Bethleham Steel. Friends will be received at the Hubbard Funeral Home, Inc. 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Md. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with funeral services at 8 PM conducted by the Rev. Bobby Hill. On Saturday, January 13, 2007, Mr. Rhodes will be moved to the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins where friends may call from 11 AM to 1PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Alby Cunningham, Jr. will officiate and interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery near Beverly.
