Emil Abel Rites Held on Thursday
REEDSVILLE (PG)-Funeral services were held at SS. John and James Lutheran Church here Thursday morning for Emil Able, 68, who died at the Veterans Hospital at Wood, Wis., where he had been a patient for several months.
The Rev. John Wendland officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Abel was employed as a mason here for many years and he had served as village marshal for 16 years. He was born in the Town of Grover, Marinette County, Nov. 30, 1888. He was married here to Mildred Kurth Dec. 17, 1921. She died in 1945.
He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France with the Army.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Rueben Sonnabend, Reedsville, and Mrs. Leslie Behnke, Brillion; two brothers, August, of Milwaukee, and Robert, Coleman; three step-brothers, Carl, Henry and Gottlieb Jannigan, all of Coleman; five sisters, Mrs. Simon Mobery, Sault St. Marie, Mich.; Mrs. William Marquart, Coleman; Mrs. Louis Schelley, Oshkosh; Mrs. Clarence Nystrom, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Oscar Matt, Sheboygan, and nine grandchildren.
The Reedsville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
