Ruby Durham Shelton, 89, of Westfield, NC passed away November 9, 2013 at Village Care, King.
She was born in Stokes County, NC, on June 22, 1924, to the late Rossie Lee Durham and Carrie Dunmon Durham.
Ruby was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church for 63 years. She was a volunteer at Hospice of Stokes County and was retired from J.P. Stevens, Westfield.
Surviving to cherish her memory is one daughter, Sylvia Shelton Kulanko and husband, Stephen Kulanko Jr.; two grandchildren, Penny Moss Bingman and husband Jerry, Brian Moss and wife Ashley; five great-grandchildren, Madyson Bingman, Ashley Bingman, Brittany Moss, Cierra Moss, Garrett Moss; three sisters, Lolene Vaden and husband, Marion, Laura Shelton, Clara Priloa; one brother, Reid Durham and wife, Avalene.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Junior Burley Shelton; her parents; one sister, Mozelle Durham Cook; two brothers, Frank Durham, Ralph Durham.
Funeral services will be at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Elder Clarence Bowman and Elder Rodney Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
