Anna M. Gentz, 89, of Newberry, passed away Wednesday evening, October 16, 2013, at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry.

She was born October 18, 1923, in Newberry, to Martin and Anna (nee Martell) Harju.

She was graduated from Newberry High School in 1941. She married Willard Gentz.

Mrs. Gentz loved card games and arts and crafts.

She is survived by her son, Forest "Woody" Gentz of Newberry; two stepdaughters, Nancy Gentz of Marquette and Beverly Holmes of Wisconsin; her sister, Bernice Bergmen of Gaylord; 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gentz was preceded in death by her husband, her stepson, William Gentz, and her brothers, Chuck Harju and Martin Harju Jr.

Visitation was Monday, October 21, from 9:30am to time of service at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry. A service was at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor LaVonne Stephenson officiating.

Interment followed at Forest Home Cemetery.
