ALLEN. Charlie Ray Allen, 75, of Cromwell, husband of Marie-Loretta (Sanfilippo) Allen, died Saturday (March 18, 1995) at a local convalescent home. Born in Portsmouth, Va., he lived in Middletown for 30 years before moving to Cromwell five years ago. He was a Navy veteran having served in World War II. He was a communicant of St. Pius Church, Middletown, and the Bishop McFarland Assembly, fourth degree Forest City Council of the K. of C. He was a past Chief Counselor of the Columbian Squires, and a member of the American Legion, Post 45 of Palatka, Fla. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, as a machinist for 32 years. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Roseann Barclay and her husband, Roy, and Dorothy Guynn, both of Middletown; two sisters, Mrs. Audrey R. McAmis of Invergrove Heights, Minn., and Mrs. Jacqueline A. Mahler of Middletown; four grandchildren, Deanna L. Barclay, Kimberly A. Barclay, Rebecca J. Guynn, Bethany M. Guynn; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday, 9:15 a.m., from the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Route 160, Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Pius Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, with full military honors. Friends may call at the Funeral Home, Monday, 4-8 p.m.
