Squeezer's great faith, character and work ethic were forged during her life, but especially during the Great Depression and World War II. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband all over the United States, and as far as Japan. Red's service in the U. S. Navy and his career in medical sales precipitated many moves in their life together. She lived in South Carolina, Rhode Island, Georgia, Florida, New Orleans and most recently, Piperton, Tennessee.
Her greatest source of joy was being with her family, extending to her many nieces and nephews and their families. She was a collector of many things and had a creative and artistic flair that was reflected in her sewing, beading, crocheting and painting. She loved to cook and made lovely flower arrangements, both of which she enjoyed sharing with her friends and neighbors. She appreciated the beauty of living on the water and marveled at all of God's creation. She was a member of Elloree (South Carolina) First Baptist Church. During her last years, she made many new friends who loved her heart and warm personality. Until her last weeks, she and Helen read the Bible together daily.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Squeezer's life at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, Orangeburg, S.C., on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., followed by burial at West End Cemetery in St. Matthews, S.C., and a reception at Black River Chop House (1145 Old Orangeburg Mall Circle) in Orangeburg, S.C. at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home, P.
