The sexton records at St. Paul's indicate her maiden name was Catherina Felix or sometimes Felip. She died of a heart attack after learning of her daughter, Barbara (Buckel) Hoffbauer's death that had occurred the previous day.
Five known children were born to them and survived to adulthood:

2. Mathias "Matt" Buckle (1839-1896) md. Mary Margaret Gumpp Oct. 19, 1868 in Cincinnati
3. Mary Ann Firestine (1841-1920) md. Jacob Matthew (Feuerstein) April 16, 1861 at New Alsace, Dearborn County
4. Barbara Hoffbauer (1843-1885) md. Dominic Hoffbauer June 13, 1865 at New Alsace, Dearborn County
5. Helen Magdalena "Lena" Mann (1845-1906) md. Jacob Joseph Mann
