March 12, 1963 - Carroll Daily Times - Peter John Koll, 90, Carroll, died about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 12 at St Anthony Hospital of a heart attack. He had been ill for a week. Requiem mass will be read at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Church, with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends call at the Twit Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at 7 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and on Wednesday at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. by the Legion of Mary, and at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Koll was born Oct. 25, 1872, in Mills County, Iowa, coming to this county in 1911. He was a son of Anton and Margueretha Kuhl Koll. His marriage to Catherine Liewer took place Nov. 11, 1896, at St. Joseph's Church in Carroll. He had been in the harness, luggage and sewing machine business. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, the Holy Name Society of the parish, and the Legion
of Mary.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. August (Veronica) Hagen, Aberdeen, S.D.; Mrs. Theodore W. (Loretta) Happe, Carroll; and Mrs. Rolland A. (Devota) Ann Rhein, Alameda, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, and 47 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Koll was preceded in death by six brothers, Valentine, Nicholas, Joseph, Matt, Mike and John Koll; and two sisters, Mrs. Susan Finken and Mrs. Anna Konz.
