BLOOMINGTON — Sharon L. Gibbons Acuncius Goldasich, 71, Mc- Nabb, formerly of Bloomington, died at 8:53 p.m. Monday (Nov. 11, 2013) outside of El Paso.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington.
Private interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Putnam County Food Pantry.

She was born Sept. 20, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Virginia Sellers Taylor.
Her father was reported missing in action during World War II and declared dead when Sharon was 2, at which time she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Ivan Ford.

She married Gerald Gibbons on June 26, 1960, and to this union was born four daughters, Monica Johnson, Bloomington; Lori Ogden, Joliet; Joy (James) Hagaman, Lewistown; and Cindy (Bryan) Renfro, Bloomington.

She later married Bradley Acuncius on April 28, 2001.
He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2011.

She married James Goldasich on Aug. 25, 2013.
He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2013.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Nathan Johnson, Jacob Ogden, Ben Ogden, Joshua Ogden, Tabitha Staley, Jessica Stephens and Courtney Renfro; eight great-grandchildren; four stepdaughters, Beth Acuncius, Hudson; Keirsa (Dan) Novotney, Appleton, Wis.; Gail (Mike) Cochran, Timewell; and Vanessa (Lee) Kramer, Meridien, Kan.;
brother, Douglas (Marilyn) Taylor, Rushville; a half sister, Alicia (Robert) Gipson, Florida; and four stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her stepfather and her grandmother, Courtna "Cookie" Chambers.

Sharon worked at State Farm Insurance Cos. and retired from BroMenn Regional Medical Center in 2002. She was a master gardener and enjoyed volunteering her time planting flowers for the Village of McNabb.

She had a wide range of interests, including crafting, painting and cooking, and will be especially remembered for her homemade caramels, noodles and bread. Sharon had a strong love for all furry creatures and especially loved cats.

Always selfless, Sharon will be long remembered for her genuine compassion and caring for others. Her giving spirit and abundant love will be forever missed.

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ill. – Illinois State Police say snow and slick roads may be to blame for a fatal crash on Interstate 39 near El Paso.
Police said Sharon Goldasich, 71, of McNabb was traveling northbound on I-39 just after 8 p.m. Monday when she lost control of her SUV while crossing the overpass of Route 24 in Woodford County.
The SUV was then hit by a semi.
Both vehicles were forced off the road and down an embankment.
Goldasich was pronounced dead at the scene.
Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman said she was on her way to visit family and friends in Putnam County at the time of the accident.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
The driver of the semi, Abidir Hashi of Minneapolis, was not injured.
