There passed away on February 21, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hilda Penny, at Blockhouse, Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Smith, in her 71st. year.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Wagner (Dorothy) of Oak Hill and Mrs. Hilda Penny of Bridgewater; two sons, Wallace of Montreal and Arthur of Dayspring. A son, Morris, passed away a year ago. One grandchild also survives.

The funeral service was held at Sweeny's Funeral Home on Thursday at 2:30 and was conducted by Rural Dean G.F. Arnold of St. James Anglican Church.

Pall bearers were George Lantz, Donald MacKay, Floyd Eichel, and Allister Ernst. Interment was in Blockhouse Cemetery.
