She was predeceased by her husband Vaughn Monroe.
She was a long time resident of Stuart, Florida, an active volunteer and professional member of several business and organizations in her community.
She held a Master of Business degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
She was a past Chairman of the Board at the Martin Health Systems, a past President of Auxiliary, and a life time member of the Auxiliary. She was a Director of the Martin Memorial Medical Center, a Director of the Senior Board of Seacoast National Bank and a past President of the Elliot Museum.
She was a member of the congregation at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughters Candace M. Wagner of Waynesboro Virginia and Christina M. Smith of Stuart, Florida.
She is survived by her grandchildren Vonne Smith-Adams, Merrell Smith-Daly, Jerry T Wagner Jr, Carrie Merrell Wagner and five Great Grandchildren.
As per her wishes, she will be buried at a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, any donations may be sent to the Treasure Coast Hospice.
A Celebration of Marian's life will be held on January 9, 2014 at The Snug Harbor Clubhouse from 5-8pm.
