Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Thursday, January 18, 1951, page 9:
  Troy, IL--Funeral services were held here Jan. 6, for Walter V. Price, 47, who died Jan. 3 after suffering a heart attack while driving with his wife and brother-in-law. The Rev. Percy Ray officiated and burial was in Friedens cemetery under the auspices of the Troy and O'Fallon American Legion posts.
  Mr. Price was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., June 18, 1903, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Price. He later settled in O'Fallon where he married Mrs. Vera Voelker, May 5, 1945, with the Rev. Ray officiating. About 16 months ago the couple moved to Troy.
  He is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. Florence Flower of Oyster Bay, N.Y.; two step-daughters, Mrs. [Larry] Donna and Mrs. Ernest [Jane] Jarvis, both of Troy; two grandchildren and two nephews.
  He was a property clerk by occupation and served in the armed forces during World War II. He was affiliated with the American Legion and was a member of the Catholic church.
