Oil City Derrick, Nov 2013:

Donna Lucille (Silvis) Motter, 90, a lifelong resident of Clarington, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Brookville Hospital. Born April 30, 1923, in Hottleville, Barnett Township, Forest County, she was the daughter of the late Jarry and Anna (Huckaborne) Silvis.


She was married June 18, 1945, to Herman Motter, who died Sept. 21, 1972.


She attended Greenwood Elementary School, Farmington and Sigel High Schools, was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper for over 45 years in the Brookville area, was a member of the Clarington United Methodist Church where she had served as a Youth Leader, Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and helped with dinners. She also was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church, was a 50 year member of Forest Chapter No. 482 OES, a member of MACA in Marienville, Forest County Historical Society and Tri-State County Assoc. No. 16 in Marienville.


Surviving are a daughter, Linda Mays and husband, Kenneth, of Knox; a daughter-in-law, Karlene Motter of Erie; two sisters, June Kelley of Sigel and Lois Ouellette and husband, Thomas, of Marienville; a brother, Neil Silvis and wife, Joyce, of Brookville; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Silvis and Leora Silvis of Marienville, four grandchildren, Lisa and Ken Zimmerman of East Earl, Chad and Melissa Mays of Lebanon, and Shellie and Joe Mrozowski and Scott Motter of Erie; a great-grandson, Kaleb Zimmerman; and three great-great-grandchildren, Lindsey Zimmerman, and Sophia and Elise Mays. Deceased are a son, Harold Dan Motter; three brothers, Paul Silvis and Max Silvis of Marienville and Harry Silvis of Allegany, NY.


Services officiated by Rev. Dan Richter and the Rev. Boyd Edmondson. Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery in Sigel.
