OBITUARY (From Amsterdam NY Evening Recorder - Oct 6, 1933 - pg. 12)
Harriett E. Burton, widow of Edward Clapper, died this morning at 9:10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. S. Rickard, 902 Park Avenue, Albany, where she had been spending a month. Death followed a lingering illness. Mrs. Clapper was born in Schoharie August 28, 1862, a daughter of Lyman and Katherine Loucks Burton, and lived there until she came to Amsterdam. She resided in this city about 46 years, most of that time being spent in the fifth ward. For about six years she had lived with her son, Arthur Clapper, in Tribes Hill. She was well known and had many friends both in Amsterdam and in Albany, where she visited frequently.
The survivors are two daughters, Mrs. L. S. Rickard and Miss Beatrice Clapper, Albany; one son, Arthur Clapper, Tribes Hill; ? grandchildren, Doris and C? Clapper, Tribes Hill; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Flagler, Selkirk; one brother, William Burton, Schoharie.
The body was moved to the funeral house of Johnson & Lind? where the funeral will be held.
