Jennie C. Sterling was born in Weston in 1850, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Caroline J. (Abbott) Sterling.
She married Peyton Randolph Holt in Weston on February 6, 1868.
They had three children together, Franklin Harvey (1872-1934), Eva Jennie (1877-1968) and Ray Wiley (1881-1948).
Her husband Peyton owned the town General Store.
Later in life, Jennie and Peyton removed to Medford, Massachusetts to live with their daughter Eva and her husband Ray Dowe.
Shortly before their deaths they returned to Vermont, Peyton died June 22, 1933 and Jennie followed almost exactly 2 years later on June 3, 1935.
