Elbert E. Barber, 87 of 103 W. Parkway Ave., died today at 3:15 a.m. at Winnebago County Hospital. He had been ill one month.

He was born in Oshkosh (sic) on Feb. 2, 1882, son of Frank J. and Ella Barber, and was married on Oct. 4, 1905, to Fidelia Chase who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 1965.

Mr. Barber had been in sales and legal work for Swift & Co. in Chicago and then in sales for E.D. Chase company in Madison before returning to Oshkosh 20 years ago. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Thomas F and Robert D. Barber, Oshkosh; four sisters, Misses Nina and Frances Barber, Mrs. Catherine Hollister and Mrs. Ella May Brown, Oshkosh.

Services will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen W. Rankin, pastor of First United Methodist church , officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-9 p.m.
