R.L. was of the Baptist faith. He took solace in his quiet time, but also enjoyed sporting events, especially NASCAR. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Opal Ray Headrick Sr.; brothers, Harold Yearout and Tommy Headrick.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Sue and Bodie Slaughter of Maryville; daughter, Tina Renee Yearout of Oak Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, JR and Jan Headrick of Maryville; grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Gullette, Bodie Slaughter; great-grandchild, Balikane Gullete; sister-in-law, Helen Yearout of Stockbridge, Ga.; former spouse, Louise Boring.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Old Piney Cemetery, 826 Old Piney Road, Maryville, with the Rev. Carl Crowe, officiating. Friends may call at their convenience from 1 until 5 p.m. Saturday at Dotson Funeral Home.
