On July 5, 1832, Margaret married Joaquim Bishop, in Philadelphia. They had four children, listed below in order of their birth:

Thomas H. (1833-1863)- Died serving in the GAR in the Battle of Chattanooga
Samuel C. (1835-1900)
Mary A. (1840-1894)
James W. A. (1843-1863)- Wounded and captured in the Battle of Fredericksburg. Died in Libby Prison in Richmond, Virginia.

Margaret died on April 28, 1846 about a week after delivery of a stillborn child.

The following obituary was published in the Philadelphia Public Ledger for Wednesday, April 29, 1846, page 2:
"On the 28th inst., after a short but painful illness, Mrs. Margaret C. Bishop, wife of Joaquim Bishop, in the 35th year of her age.
"The friends and relatives are particularly invited to attend the funeral, from her late residence, No. 35 Catharine street, to-morrow (Thursday) at 3 o.clock, P.M."

Margaret was buried in Lot E.F. #17 in LaFayette Cemetery in Philadelphia. The lot was a Family Burial Lot owned by Joaquim Bishop.
This cemetery is now defunct. The remains of those buried there were removed and moved to a mass grave in another location, now marked by a plaque shown on this memorial.
