John "Jack" Hinton Graves, age 83, died Friday, November 8th, 2013 at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, AZ.

Jack was born December 23, 1929 in Marysville, KS, to Frank and Geneva (Schramm) Graves. Jack attended Marysville High School and graduated in 1948. Upon graduation he enlisted into the United States Air Force and Served as a Staff Sergeant working on jet aircraft. He served in the Philippines during The Korean Conflict. After his military service he returned to Marysville, where he began a thirty-five year career with the Union Pacific Railroad. His last title was Industrial Development Engineer in North Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement.

He and wife Patsy moved to Sun City West, AZ, in 1991. He was an avid golfer and both he and Patsy attended Our Lady of Lourdes and Prince of Peace Catholic Churches. Jack volunteered his time with Interfaith Community Care in which he did minor home repair for residents in the Sun City communities.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Geneva (Schramm) Graves; step-mother, Josephine Graves; sister, Drusilla (Graves) Maldoon; and brother, Mike Graves.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Patsy Ruth (Powell) Graves, four sons, Steven P. Graves, Firestone, CO, Perry R. Graves and wife Gloria, Lawrence, KS, David P. Graves and wife Donna, Dade City, FL, and Andrew A. Graves, Shawnee, KS; sister, Susie Krepel and husband Dick, Lakewood, CO, Mary Monica Piersanti and husband Jeff, Ogden, UT; brother-in-law, Ray Maldoon, Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Patti Graves Sierra Vista, AZ; eight grandchildren, Patti and April Graves, Lawrence, KS, Johnny and Elizabeth Graves, Los Angeles, CA, Steven P. Graves, Trenton, MO, David, Tara and Tyler Graves, Dade City, FL; three great-grandchildren, Ella, Luscious and Dax Denson-Redding, Nola and Bria Levings; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 23, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery.
