Larry was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, son of the late Edwin and Elizabeth (Leibscher) Corfey. He began a long career in the grocery industry with Finast Grocery stores, working up from a produce clerk in a local store to produce manager, produce supervisor and later a buyer. He left Finast to work in Indiana. The family would return to the east coast in 1983 where Larry took a position with Iandoli's Supermarkets which was later bought out by Shaws. After his retirement, in 1996, he and his wife moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia and later to Ware, Mass.
Larry married Jeanne Kimmerling 30 Oct 1954 in Bridgeport, Ct. The couple had 6 children, 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Larry loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
