Junior Arthur Addis, age 85, of Demorest, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Gold City Convalescent Center in Dahlonega.
Born on August 27, 1928, in Hiawassee, Georgia, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lola Allison Addis. Mr. Addis was a retired supervisor with Chicopee Manufacturing and was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. He loved gardening, playing the mandolin and most of all, his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Addis was also preceded in death by his wife, Mogene Gibson Addis; brothers, James and Wilford Addis; sister, Minnie Holcomb.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Sandra Addis of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Bill Lindeman of Grayson, Georgia; daughter, Rebecca Ferguson of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Darrell Clark of Rome, Georgia; brother, J.B. Addis of Clarkesville; sister, Marcella Freeman of Cornelia; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Double Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia (706/778-8668) is in charge of arrangements.
