The deceased was born May 2, 1831 and was reared about three miles west of Mineral Point on the old Thrasher homestead. At the age of twenty-one years he went with the gold seekers to California. Returning five years later in 1857, he was married to Miss Kattherine Hubanks of Linden in which township they resided and devoted themselves to agricultural interests for many years. In March 1900 they retired from the farm and came to Mineral Point, where they lived from that time until summoned to the Great Beyond. Mrs. Thrasher's death occurred in June 1906., after which Mr. Thrasher lived with his children, sharing his affections with them all.
Those left to mourn their loss are one brother, John of Humbolt, S. Dak.; four sons and three daughters: James M. Thrasher, Mrs. John Holmes, Mrs. Joseph Wagner, Charles Thrasher, Mrs. William Bambrough, all of Mineral Point; George Thrasher of Vancouver, Wash.; and John Thrasher of Madison.
The funeral services were held at the home of Charles Thrasher, 140 North Spruce Street, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. C.W. Emery officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Graceland.
