According to the 1900 census he was a commercial traveler, born June 1847 in Canada, father born Scotland, mother Canada, immigrated to the U.S. in 1864, and lived at 810 S 27th street in Omaha, Nebr. with his wife Anna and niece Margaret McDonald (born October 1878 in Pennsylvania, parents born Canada).

His burial card (which spells his last name McRae) states he died November 20, 1923, age 75 years, and was buried November 23.

FUNERAL NOTICES

MACRAE – John D., at residence, 812 S. 27th St., is survived by his wife.

Funeral Friday morning from John A. Gentleman mortuary, 8:30 o’clock, to St. Peter’s church, 9 o’clock. Interment Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
