At the age of 18, Pastor Davis joined the United States Army and served four years. He fought for our country in the Vietnam War with the 173rd Airborne Division.
He accepted Christ at the age of 12. He later joined Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Black in 1971. In June of 1982, Pastor Davis received his calling from God to preach the gospel and was ordained by Pastor Black. There he met Marjorie J. Meadows-Robinson, whom a year later, on April 17, 1983, would become his wife of 17 years until her passing. They had two sons, Desmond and Richard , and one daughter, Angela.
Pastor Davis accepted his assignment at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton, AR on the first Sunday in May of 1983 and served faithfully for 28+years until his passing. He loved and thanked God for the Mt. Zion Baptist Church family.
In 1999, Pastor Davis received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services with a minor in Theology from Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, AR. Pastor Davis was also a successful businessman, owning different businesses, Davis Trucking and A-MAR Distributing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Majorie J. Davis, his father, Paul Davis, Sr. and one brother, Paul Davis, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Angela N. Davis of Little Rock, AR, two sons, Desmond Robinson of Little Rock, AR and Richard Robinson (Staci), of San Jacinto, CA, three grandchildren, Kameron, Kae'la, and Jae'da Robinson, of San Jacinto, CA; his mother Ollie B. Graham of Dermott, AR, ten brothers, Curtis Graham, Sr., Stanley Graham, Sr. Charles Graham and Needie Graham, of Dermott, AR; Willie Graham, Jr. (Angela) of Bastrop, LA; George Graham of Little Rock, AR; Fred Graham and James Graham (Marilyn) of Sherwood, AR; Jerry Graham (Vanecia) of Conway, AR, Timothy Davis (Fontella) of Crossett, AR; six sisters, Joyce Gray (Jerry) and Grace Gray (Kelvin) of Atlanta, GA; Wanda Ruffins (John) of Little Rock, AR; Thelma McRae (Donald) of Camden, AR; Lois Jones (Nathaniel) and Brenda Davis, of Dallas, TX, five "sister/brother cousins," Kenneth Wilks (Patricia), Elijah Moorehead (Judy), Gloria Ruth, Sylvia Riley, and Ruby Brownall of Little Rock, AR; two aunts, Willie Coakley of Little Rock, AR; and Jeweline Dewitt (James) of Kansas City, KS; one uncle, James Coakley (Florence); and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 144 Mt. Zion Loop in Morrilton from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday , February 17, 2012.
Funeral service for Rev. Davis, will be Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church 105 Arnold St. in Plumerville, AR by Rev. Arnette Dodson of Sherwood, AR.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 the day of the funeral.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morrilton.
