Mrs. Estella W. Smith
Mrs Estella W. Smith, 70, of 3065 Logan Ave., a former employee of the Westgate-California Cannery, died Sunday in a hospital.
Mrs. Smith, the former Estella West, was employed by the cannery for 30 years before retiring. She was born in Tucson, Ariz., and came to San Diego County 48 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Alex Lopez and Andy Appel, both of San Diego; two daughters, Mrs Helen Zumaya of San Diego and Mrs Clara Johnson of San Francisco; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grand children.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 8:30 tonight in Bonham Brothers Mortuary. A requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow in St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
