COLUMBUS -- Elfrieda A. Adam; age 92, died on Monday, October 9, 1995 at Columbus Community Hospital.
She was born December 4, 1902 in Elba Township, Dodge County to Julius and Wilhelmina (Schultz) Pergande.
She married Theodore Adam on September 24, 1925 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus. They farmed in the town of Fountain Prairie, near Fall River, before moving to Columbus in 1963.
Mrs. Adam was a former member of the Rural Womens Club and the School Mothers Club at Inglewood. She was a former member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Fall River before becoming a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Beverly) Adam of Columbus and Eugene (Betsy) Adam of Fall River; two daughters, Marian (Eugene) Marshall of Janesville and Adeline (Roger) Voss of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Adam of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ida Pergande of Columbus, Elsie Adam of Columbus and Gertrude Adam of Rio; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in November of 1984; a son, Lester, in March of 1991; two brothers, Arthur and Clarence; and one sister, Elsie Schlief.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 11, 1995 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Wilke officiating. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery, Columbus, Memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Fall River or Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus.
The Zeidler-Murry Funeral Home, Columbus, served the family.
