IRONWOOD, Mich. — Virginia A. Sjogren 79, of North Agate Road, Trout Creek, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.



She was born on June 2, 1934, to Wainio and Emma (Gustafson) Kananen in Agate.

In June 1952, Virginia married the late John B. Sjogren.

Virginia loved to talk on the phone to her family and friends. She liked to cook, can and bake. Virginia was a fan of the Jan Tucker Radio Show. She called in to the radio program nearly every morning with the weather conditions from her home on North Agate Road. Virginia especially enjoyed talking to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, John (Ellen); daughters, Lucille Sjogren and Sheryl (Rikhard) Pottala; grandchildren, Alex, Joshua (Trista) and Katie Sjogren, Jessica (Skip) Anderson and Kimberly Keyser; great-grandchildren, Melissa Anderson and Layla Roman; sister, Shirley (Jack) Matthews; and sisters-in-law, Ann Kananen and Patti Kananen.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John Sjogren; and brothers, Bob and Ron Kananen.



Burial will be in the Agate Cemetery in Trout Creek
