Edgar J. "Jim" Williams, Jr., age 72 of Grove City, peacefully left this earth to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 19, 2013 surrounded by family at home. Preceded in death by parents, Edgar "Eck" and Medrith "Bobbie" Williams. Born September 22, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. Survived by wife, Linda Williams; daughter, Jodi Williams; son, Joshua Williams; step-sons, Curtis (Julie) Hinson and Chad Hinson; grandchildren, Aleshia Macioce, Megan Gates, Savannah Hinson, Emily and Michael Hinson; great-grandchildren, Angelo and Milana Macioce, Westley and Maddix McGuire, and Madalyn Jarrell; sisters, Nancy (Ron) Chandler and Barbara Murray; brother, Joseph Williams; aunts, Geneva "Tibby" Noble and Jean Hux; life-long friend, Glenn Harris; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Jim was retired after 39 ½ years from the City of Columbus, Division of Traffic Engineering. After retirement he did what he always wanted to do, deliver flowers and referee basketball. Jim dearly loved his large family and they loved him. Being a dad, a grandpa, a great-grandpa and an uncle was the greatest joy of his life. Friends may visit with the family at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where the funeral service will be held 11 am Friday. Interment Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia and Lyphoma Society, 2225 Citygate Dr., Columbus, OH 43219.
