KILLS RAY WOLFE
Mr. Ray a. Wolfe, 58, of
Wardell, died in a Richlands
hospital Monday evening, Dec.
8, victim of an accidental
gunshot wound.
He was born in Smyth County
and was a son of Mrs. Molly
B. Chambers Wolfe of Sarasota,
Fla., and the late Robert M.
Wolfe, a native of Smyth
County.
He had made his home at War-
dell, for the past two years,
was a retired employee of the
Jacob's Fork Coal Company at
Squire, W. Va., a member of
the UMW of A., Local No. 7173
at Squire, and had worked as
School Attendance Officer
for McDowell County for 12
years. He was a former mem-
ber of the Moose Lodge at
Welch, W. Va.
Survivors besides his mother
are: his wife, Mrs. Gladys
Altizer Wolfe, of the home;
three daughters, Mrs. Nancy
Wolfe Taylor, Willingsboro,
N. J.; Mrs. Teresa Wolfe
Wiegers, Gaithersburg, Md.;
and Miss Saundra A. Wolfe
of the home; one sister,
Mrs. Iona Wolfe Davidson,
Cincinnati, Ohio; four broth-
ers, Huston, M. Wolfe, Holly-
wood, Fla.; Charles H. Wolfe,
Sarasota, Fla., Harry C.
Wolfe, Sarasota, Fla. and
six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted Thursday afternoon at
2:00 p.m. from Hurst-Scott
Funeral Chapel with Rev.
Charles A. Vaughn and Rev.
Victor E. Zimmerman officiat-
ing.
Interment will follow in
the Hankins Cemetery in Rich-
lands.
Pallbearers will be Marin
Helton, Ira W. Herndon,
Clarence Pruitt, Harry C.
Huston, Randolph M. and
Charles H. Wolfe, Thomas
Patrick, Jr. and Joe Higgin-
botham.
Honorary Pallbearers will
be W. G. Altizer, Hoyt Altizer,
