GLADYES WOLFE
Mrs. Gladys Wolfe, 79, of
Durham, NC, formerly of Rich-
lands, died Feb. 3 in the
Duke University Hospital in
Durham flowing a lengthy
illness.
She was born in Tazewell
County and was a daughter of
the late James Thomas and
Nannie Lou Pruitt Altizer.
She was a graduate of Radford
State Teachers College and was
a retired School teacher,
having taught in the Tazewell
County School System for several
years. She was a lifelong
resident of the Richlands area
and was a member of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Ray Wolfe.
Survivors: daughters, Mrs.
Al (Nancy) Taylor of Gurnee, IL,
Mrs. Dan (Terry) Wiegers of
Durham, Mrs. Jerry (Saundra)
Patton of Greenwood, FL; sisters,
Lena Pugh of Richlands, Mrs.
Marvin Helton of Raven; and nine
grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Feb. 7
at 11 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott
Funeral Chapel in Richlands with
Elder Richard Farthing, Elder
Stephen K. Miller and Rev. Bernard
Shrader officiating.
Interment followed in the Hankins
Cemetery in Richlands.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Rich-
lands was in charge of arrangements.
