Milton M. Doty, 87, of North Rd., passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at home with his family at his side.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 7 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Keysor Funeral Service, 11362 South St., Cato, where a funeral service will be held Monday, June 8 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Predeceased by his wife, Kathleen in 2008; son, Carl; and granddaughter, Pamela Doty. He is survived by six children, Paul (Kay) of Ira, Robert (Sally) of Hannibal, Roger (Cindy) of Ira, Sharon (Don) Nihoff of Bethel, Kathy (Gerald) Hunter of Cato and Debra (Keith) Chesbro of Pennellville; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Mabel Chase of Jordan; nieces, nephews and family friend, Elaine Malda.
Milt was born October 13, 1927 in the Town of Ira, a son to Milton and Belle Kyle Doty. He was a lifelong area farmer and worked for the Postal Service as a mail carrier for 20 years. His passion was for "Calling" at Round and Square dances.

Milt married Kathleen "Betty" Jane Kelly on Saturday, 20 July 1946 in Ira, Cayuga, New York at the Ira Methodist Church at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Joseph D. Lewien.
Betty was the daughter of Lawrence Albert Kelly, Sr. and Evelyn Leona French. He had met Betty at a dance and now they are dancing together in the stars.
In this union they had 7 children. Their first child, Carl, had died as a 3 day old infant in September 1947.
6 wonderful children (Paul, Roger, Robert, Sharon, Kathleen, and Debra) remain as they are now adults with family of their own.
In his retirement years after most of his life being spent as a dairy farmer, Milton and Betty would often spend the winter in Florida. He cherished his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many acquaintances, friends, and family members had attended his funeral service. He was praised for being an admirable and respected man, remembered well by the community for his calling at Barn Dances, and loved by his children.

after selling of farm on RD3 North Rd., had new home built at 12590 North Rd
Cato, NY 13033. - practically across the road from the farm. Built on 3 and 1/3 acres.
A newer home #12578 belonging to another family sits directly across from the farm.
