McMAHON, Aubrey Martin – Age 83, of Oakland passed away on Monday, February 16, 1998. He was born on August 15, 1914 at Oregon City, Oregon to Francis Charles and Lulu D. (Leavitt) McMahon.

Aubrey was a WW II veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant.

Following the war he came home to Douglas County where he worked in the mills pulling on the green chain and ranching.

On September 4, 1954 in Lane County he married Ruth E. Robertson, who preceded him in death on May 12, 1993.

Mr. McMahon was a member of the Presbyterian Community Church of Oakland.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harold Key and a sister, Esther Copeland all of Oakland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 1998 at 2 p.m. At the CHAPEL OF THE FIRS. Pastor Sally Weber will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. District #12 Honor Guard.

Also buried in the same cemetery are 3 children who died young. Aubrey's paternal grandmother died shortly after child birth with the child George dying 2 months later. The other children buried with their parents are Matilda & Mary.

It appears the surviving adult children continued operating the family's farm after their parents passed away.
