Harold was born in Boston to parents Howard F. Wetmore and Lucy Royal Stanton. After Lucy died in 1889 Harold was taken in by Edgar J. Matthews and Abbie S.(Estarbrook) Matthews in Fitzwilliam, HH. Sometime after 1900 they moved to Paxton, MA. Harold married Mabel G. Kohlstrom in 1913. They had five children.
Harold is buried at the Matthews plot with the ashes of his wife, Mabel. The stone is located to the left of the church towards the back, on the right side facing the path from the bottom of the hill entrance.
