Rodger A. Preston, 48, of Bemidji died Friday, July 10, 1992, at North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services, following cremation were at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Preston was born April 25, 1944, at Park River, N.D., to Omer and Eva Preston. He moved to Bemidji in 1950, attended Lincoln Elementary School, then went to high school in Keewatin. He went to work for Long Year Drilling Co., of Phoenix, Ariz., in 1972 and retired in November 1986 as a driller foreman.

He is survived by a son, Rudy (Stacy) Preston of Fargo, N.D.; two daughters, Valaire K. Preston of Fargo and Nicole A. Preston of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; his mother of Bemidji; 10 sisters, Donna (Grant) Settingsgard of Edmore, N.D., Gwenith Mouton of Stillwater, Okla., Lucine (Charles) Brownlee of Bemidji, Vivian (Ronnie) Fisher of Clarmore, Okla., Lorraine (Clifford) Brownlee of Hoyt Lakes, Kathryn Osmundson of Bemidji, Janice (Delbert) Bahr of Brainerd, Naomi (Robert) Erickson of Isle, Penny (George) Huffman of Bemidji and Candice (Paul) Kilpela of Aurora; and three brothers, Ernest (Ardie) Preston of Grandin, N.D., Lanny Preston of Minneapolis and Omer (Loretta) Preston of Globe, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, John Rodney Preston; and a nephew.
