Mervin L. Henry
SPRING GROVE – Mervin L. Henry, 79, of 52 N. High St., a retired employee of the P. H. Glatfelter Co., died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Lottie C. (Werner) Henry.
The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Jacob's (Stone) Union Church, Brodbecks RD 1. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Viewing will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Sauter Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Henry was born in the Dallastown area, the son of the late John A. and Carrie B. (Winter) Henry.
He retired from the shipping department of the Glatfelter company and was a member of the firm's Quarter Century Club. After retirement, he was a part-time custodian at Spring Grove Area High School until 1983.
A member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran Congregation, he also was a member of the Men's Bible Class, of the church's Community Club, of St. Matthew Lutheran Church Half-Century Fellowship of York, of Spring Grove Area Senior Citizens and American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 1578.
Mr. Henry also is survived by two brothers, Clair A. Henry, 2427 Eastwood Drive, York, and Elmer W. Henry, 211 N. Main St., Shrewsbury.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Richard C. Weaver, and pastor emeritus, the Rev. Kenneth S. Ehrhart.
