EL PASO, Texas - Wilma J. Moneypenny, 73, 437 Penroy Lane, formerly of Bristolville, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Moneypenny was born July 8, 1936, a daughter of Gertrude Castile Richards and Albert Richards.

Wilma was a 1954 graduate of Bristol High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles T. Moneypenny.

Mrs. Moneypenny was actively involved in her children's lives by being a den mother for the Cub Scouts and working with the Lake to River Girl Scout Council. She also enjoyed bowling in both Ohio and El Paso.

Mrs. Moneypenny was also actively involved as a volunteer with the Horizon City Lions Club, Bristolville Lions Club and the Oz Glaze Senior Center.

Prior to his death in June 2009, Mrs. Moneypenny enjoyed assisting her husband, Charles, in the making of wood crafts for family and friends.

Mrs. Moneypenny will be deeply missed by her family who survives: her five children, Charles K. (Sonia) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Thomas A. of Warren, Gary L. (Renee) of Simpsonville, S.C., Carol (Moneypenny) Swistok of Warren and Kellie Moneypenny of El Paso; her brother, Willy (Betty) Richards of Bristolville; her sisters, Betty (Lester) Bundy of Bristolville, Ada (Sam) Dunmire of Austintown and Sue (Gary) Peterson of Chiefland, Fla.; and sister-in-law Judy (Don) Headley of Brandon, Fla. Mrs. Moneypenny also leaves 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Wilma will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Horizon City, 17018 Darrington Road, El Paso, Texas 79928. A memorial service and burial will be held at North Bristol Christian Church, Bristolville, at a later date.

Cremation has taken place.

Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter Drive, El Paso, Texas 79936, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

At the request of the family, any monetary contributions can be made to the Horizon City Fire Department, 14151 Nunda, El Paso, Texas 79928, or the Bristolville Fire Department at P.O. Box 262, Bristolville, Ohio 44402.
