Theodore was a blacksmith on North Ocean Avenue in the town of Patchogue. He was a member of the Brookhaven Lodge of Odd Fellows.
Obituary - Theodore P. Marvin, a former blacksmith, died at his home on Bay Avenue, Patchogue, on Thursday after an illness of four weeks at the age of 82. Mr. Marvin conducted a blacksmith shop on North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue for many years. He was one of the oldest members of Brookhaven Odd Fellows, and believed to be the oldest in point of years of membership. He was a past noble grand of the lodge and on the occasion of the 4,600th meeting of the group in December the second degree, in its old form, was conferred on him by Charles Cochrane, another of the past grands. He and Mrs. Marvin celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary on June 24, 1933. Besides his widow, Mrs. Lillie Marvin, he leaves one son, S. Webster Marvin of Bayport and one daughter, Mrs. James H. Rogers of Hollis. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at three o'clock in the Patchogue Methodist Church, of which he had been an active member for many years. The Rev. Dr. George C. Fort officiated. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
