Mr. Robert McWhorter Warren

Mr. Robert McWhorter Warren, age 75, 472 Pleasant Valley Road, Silver Creek, passed away Thursday morning at his residence.

Mr. Warren was born in Cherokee County, Ala., on April 21, 1927, son of the late George Israel Warren and the late Florence Virginia Roach Warren. He was a member of the East Rome Baptist Church. Mr. Warren served one year in the U.S. Navy during World War II, followed by 19 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Following his retirment after 20 years of military service, he was employed for over 19 years with Galey and Lord in Shannon. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, the former Frances Emyline Elrod, on April 21, 1988; by two sons, James Alfred Warren, Sr. and Perry Michael Warren, Sr. and by eight siblings, Paul W. Warren, Sara J. Warren, Clara Bell Warren, George T. Warren, John R. Warren, Quinn McCarver Warren, Alfred T. Warren, and Florence Virginia Warren.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Elizabeth Davenport of Silver Creek, Mrs. Alta Virginia Milam of Silver Creek and Mrs. Sharon Kay Ozment of Dallas; a son, Robert Lee Warren of Lawrenceville; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with his pastor, Rev. Travis Martin and the Rev. Rayford Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Bush Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery with the U.S. Air Force Regional Honor Guard extending military honors.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home this evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
