"The Rev. L.A. Wild, long an honored member of the Wyoming conference and well known about this section, died at his home at Mt. Upton Thursday of last week, of heart failure after a two weeks illness. The funeral services will be held from the late home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment in the family plot at Mt. Upton cemetery. Mr. Wild was a native of the town of Butternuts and was seventy-seven years of age. He attended the Gilbertsville academy, the Cooperstown High school and later Cazenovia seminary. He taught for several years. In 1872 he united with the Wyoming conference and served as pastor of various churches until 1880 when ill health compelled his retirement. He returned to the ministry in 1894, but in 1898 his health necessitated his permanent withdrawal from active service, since which time he has resided at Rockdale. He married in 1868 Miss Lillie V.
