William Roberts died late Saturday night in DeLand Memorial Hospital as the result of a bullet wound from a revolver accidentally discharged while on a fishing trip on the St. Johns river near Orange City.
The deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Roberts, and was reared here. About ten years ago he was married to Miss Bobbie Lee Flowers. Two children, Willie Lee, age 8, and Bill Steve, age 3 surviving, and with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Roberts. Bobbie Lee passing away about two years ago, he was married to Miss Ada Lieb. He was a carpenter, having built and sold eleven houses in DeLand in the past two years. In the big Whitworth tent revival here in November, he united with the Baptist Church.
The remains were interred in the Lake Helen Cemetery following the funeral. William Roberts is survived by his widow, two children, his parents, four brothers, Oscar, Marion, Nathan and Ellis, and his five sisters Tessie, Bertha, Margaret, Hazel and Christine. The entire family have the sympathy of the many friends in the tragic taking away of their loved one. The many beautiful flowers spoke of the love of friends and relatives. Undertaker J. A. Allen of DeLand had charge of the arrangements.
